Davido Covers The Fader Magazine's Global Issue
Davido is on the rise! the Nigerian singer has successfully conquered the African market and is determined to make a name for himself globally by signing recently with Sony Records.
His efforts are yielding fruits as New-york based Magazine The Fader featured him on the cover of their Global Issue. The interviewer Rawiya Kameir, came in to Lagos for the interview to witness Davido in his natural habitat. She gave an in-depth write-up based on her observations and conversations with the singer.
Davido opens up on his early days, from dropping out of Oakland University to relocating to London without his father's permission and finally returning home ( Lagos, Nigeria). He also throws some light on the Nigerian music industry & his future plans.
On his relationship with wizkid, he replied saying “Me and Wizkid, we’re the best,” says Davido. “If one telecoms comes to me, the other one will go meet him. If Coke comes to me, Pepsi goes to him. Whether or not it’s true, they make it feel like it can only be one of us. I think there’s enough for all of us to eat, but then sometimes it can feel like only one person will win."
