Would be kicking this off with a fun visit to Genesis Sky Bar,  Port-Harcourt.

On entry, it has a sporty feel thanks to the jersey and baseball caps framed on the wall but you turn into the main bar and it has an understated elegance that is both relaxing and chic. Aesthetic display of dark wood against brown leather furniture, wall paper, wick rattan furnishings and sport oriented framed pictures.

      

Floor to ceiling windows open to a beautiful terrace with a huge screen that is great for sport nights and relaxation. Further display of wick rattan furnishings and high tables and chairs with lovely well-placed plants, it's ambiance is peaceful and laid back. The sound of different genres of music sweet to our ears, but most especially I love that it is often a mix of jazz, rock n' roll and some good old country music.

The manager had the meals prepared before my arrival. The customer service was impeccable!

Here  are the dishes and cocktails I tried. Yes I had a taste of every single thing! Life of a foodie...

Spring Rolls

Spring Rolls - The people's delight finger food is made at the sky bar with Minced beef & spring vegetables wrapped in a wrapper & fried.  Served hot with Hot Chill Pepper sauce, definitely had me craving the main course 

Crispy Chicken Wings

Crispy Chicken Wings - Enjoy marinated and fried chicken wings batter-fried & served with a spicy oriental sauce, crisp and all that heat just let's out with a bite...

Classic Burger

Classic Burger - Nicely grounded beef patty on fresh lettuce bed with Cheese, Mayo, Butter & greens such as Tomato, Onion, Pickles served in freshly baked burger bun & french fries on the side.  The burger was simply... beautiful, inside out, lol. The dressing and the soft beef, the delicious cheese had my eyes all watery... tangy, sweet and sour mix to give your taste buds a real buzz

Char-grilled Chicken & French Fries

Char-grilled Chicken - Half chicken grilled with chicken stock, spices, Tomato, Chili pepper to perfection & served with salad & choice of Special Fried Rice or French Fries. I love when chicken just melts in your mouth and this has so much spicy goodness in every bite... With those perfectly crisp fries and some veggies (I totally ate the garnishing), a little bit of coleslaw on the side and the perfect mock cocktail, I couldn't help but leave nothing on the plate‎

Prawns In Lemon Butter Sauce

Prawns In Lemon Butter Sauce - Continental recipe of jumbo Prawns deliciously made in fresh lemon butter sauce & parsley, Served with salad & choice of French Fries or Special Fried Rice (I opted for rice). I am a seafood lover 

Coupe Jack

Coupe Jack - Yummy Dessert, made with fresh assorted fruits, custard, chocolate & vanilla ice-cream . This dessert is more healthy than most as it has low fats and carbs. Sweet tooth soothing without over indulging...

Let's get to the Drinks!

I had a quick chat with the mixologist/ manager on cocktail recipes, drink preparations and much more!  

Cocktails and Mocktails

Yes there are the regular alcohol, pack juices and soft drinks but my favourite feature of the sky bar is definitely the Mocktails and cocktails. ‎The manager is also a mixologist who favours natural, fruit based drinks enhanced with no artificial flavors. I love the wide range and I tried a few and they definitely did not fall short...

Genesis - Signature Refreshing drink

Genesis - Signature Refreshing drink made with cognac, ginger,  honey, fresh lime, fresh green apple (Garnished with apple leaf). Definitely the strongest on the cocktail menu and has a tangy delicious taste accentuated by the honey. With zero sugar content.‎

Sky Margarita

Sky Margarita - strong lemony cocktail made with tequila, fresh lime, cointreau, fresh pineapple & coconut (Served with slat rim to the glass). 

Watermelon Martini

Watermelon Martini - Fruity cocktail made with fresh ripe watermelon, fresh lime & vodka

Caribbean Delight

Caribbean Delight - Creamy delectable combination of Mango, Orange, Pineapple, coconut, Vanilla & Sparkling

‎Refresher

‎Refresher-non alcoholic drink has fresh cucumber, fresh basil,lime,cranberry & sparkling. It's definitely got that fresh taste.

Chapman

Chapman - Traditional Nigerian drink made with Minerals, Cherry & Bitters. It has a different taste that is both crisp and sweet.

The first venture was so much fun with Genesis Sky Bar, Port-Harcourt. Great food, music, delicious drinks, and excellent customer service. Till the next little entry...XO, Imole Marie
